Discover my passion for teaching and coaching. This is a space where you can explore my personal growth as a preservice teacher.
Introduction
Welcome to my teaching portfolio. This space highlights my growth as a pre-service teacher and my passion for both teaching and coaching.
I believe education should provide a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel valued, take risks, and develop confidence in who they are. My goal is to help students grow not only academically, but also personally, supporting them as they build their identity, develop responsibility, and learn to contribute positively to their communities.
I am dedicated to helping youth achieve their goals through meaningful learning experiences, strong relationships, and active engagement both inside and outside the classroom.

About Me
I grew up in Gilbert Plains and developed a strong passion for sport, physical activity, and working with others from an early age. I attended Brandon University, where I completed a Bachelor of Physical Education Studies in the Exercise Science stream with a minor in Science, followed by my Bachelor of Education (After Degree).
Growing up, I was actively involved in a variety of sports, with a particular focus on volleyball through both school and club programs. That experience has carried into my teaching, where I now enjoy coaching multiple sports and look forward to continuing with club coaching in the near future.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy outdoor pursuits such as camping and fishing, as well as staying active through sports like golf. These experiences continue to shape my approach to teaching, helping me build strong connections with students and promote active, healthy lifestyles.
"I am going to miss you so much. You gave me the confidence to participate when I was mentally and physically tired. You cheered me on and treated me with kindness and respect. You make gym better, please come back soon."

"I'm going to miss how kind you are, you always start the day greeting us with a smile. Thanks for giving us new games and workouts."

IWOK Statement
I believe teaching and learning are rooted in relationships, respect, and a recognition of diverse ways of knowing. Building strong, authentic connections with students creates a foundation of trust that supports engagement, risk-taking, and meaningful learning. I also value peer teaching and collaborative group work as opportunities for students to learn from one another and build shared understanding. I prioritize learning experiences that incorporate multiple perspectives, encouraging students to think critically, consider different viewpoints, and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.
I am committed to integrating Indigenous Ways of Knowing by honouring holistic approaches, Elders’ knowledge, and land-based learning. Outdoor learning provides opportunities for students to connect with the land, themselves, and each other in meaningful ways that extend beyond the classroom. I strive to move beyond a solely Westernized lens by creating space for diverse voices, knowledge systems, and ways of understanding, fostering a more inclusive and balanced learning environment for all students.
